For almost 40 years, Austin’s Casa Marianella has welcomed men, women, and children fleeing terror, torture, and political persecution in their home countries. As we look forward to 2025, we continue to be passionate about our mission.
In fact, on Dec. 9 at 7pm, Casa is hosting “Home Is Here: A Concert for Casa Marianella” at ACL Live at the Moody Theater. The show will be a coming-together of Austin musicians welcoming their new Austin neighbors—and helping raise funds for a new facility for women and children, which will include education and community areas for (open floor plan on the first floor to accommodate homework tutoring, ESL class, game time for kids, holiday parties) as well as a family garden. We’re aiming for a goal of $200,000 raised to help make this new shelter a reality and the best it can be for our kiddos and moms. It’s going to be a great night of entertainment and fundraising for a worthy cause —all to make sure Austin remains a safe and welcoming place for refugees and asylum seekers.

Low Design Office, FORGE Landscape Architecture, and Fort Structures have designed the new community dwelling, garden, and playscape for Casa Marianella’s new family shelter that we are fundraising for, seen below as a rendering.
