HOUSING RESOURCES

https://www.housing-rights.org/guide-to-affordable-housing-1

Foundation Communities requires that residents meet 1) specific income guidelines (less than 75k/year for 2-4 people AND proof of income 2.5x rent), 2) pass criminal and credit checks, and 3) have a good rental history.

There might be some leniency on the rental history requirement but you have to contact the properties directly. Here’s a list of the Austin properties: https://foundcom.org/housing/our-austin-communities/

If you pick a particular property you can see more detailed tenant selection criteria (scroll down toward the bottom of the page).

Blackland community (512-220-8751) is another resource recommended by the person I talked to at Foundation Communities- not particularly good info on their website concerning their selection criteria/requirements but they have a nice resource list here: https://www.blacklandcdc.org/getting-help
